War Paint Wanda
I sometimes like writing anthem-style songs. This really fits that bill. "War Paint Wanda" is about a tough-as-nails woman from a long time ago who was a legendary warrior and also very mean and tough. This is a fun song to play and sing, and it always gets a cool reaction with people asking if Wanda is based on a real person in history.

War Paint Wanda with a striped left cheek
And a club in her right hand
Blood red lips, don't think it's paint
She's been known to bite a man
The eagles screech when they hear her come
The hyenas heel and the lions they run
(Chorus)
Wanda's on the warpath
All painted up for battle
A warrior, her mare strides on
Used bones to make her saddle
It's not ghosts or ghouls, demons or fools
Men fear when comes the night
War Paint Wanda is riding through
And she's looking for a fight
A rumor or two, the last guy she knew
Raised his fist and lost his hand
Or the time her tribe wandered the desert
Only Wanda made it back
She got a scorpion's sting, a tiger's growl
All the men watch out when she's on the prowl
(Chorus)
Village elders scare the girls and boys
With tales of Wanda by the fire
She rode a dragon, slayed a giant
The sky lit with its funeral pyre
She drinks from a skull, eats her meat raw
The meanest woman that you ever saw
(Chorus)
