What can you say

(Howard Aronson)

This lyric is about when your partner tells you that she doesn't love you anymore. She tells you that she's going in a different direction and that there's somebody else in her life. When that happens, and it's happened to me at that point you feel so alone. At the time it happened to me, I was living in her house, so I have to go find another place to live and at that point I didn't even have a home, and I moved back to my parents house for a little while. I was young in my 30s, but still if I think about it too much it hurts. It's one of those lyrics that a lot of people can relate to, and there's really nothing you can do or nothing you can say hence the name of my lyric called what can you say. It's a rhetorical question.

What can you do What can you do When she says I don't love you What can you say What can you say When she says I'm going another way Now I'm alone And nowhere to call home Now I'm alone And nowhere to call home I never saw this coming My jaw hung down to my feet I couldn't manage a tear I slumped over in my seat What can you say What can you say When she says I'm going another way What can you say What can you say What can you do What can you do When she says I've found someone new What can you say What can you say When she says I'm leaving you today What can you say What can you say When she says I'm going another way What can you say What can you say What can you say What can you say What What

Hypnotic are the stars

By Howard Aronson

This is a dreamy lyric about my love of the Stars. When I was a kid I used to love going to the planetarium to see all the constellations. I believe that if you look up into the sky at night time and just close your eyes and then open them again they'll be a fantastic display in front of you. It's one that you could throw up your dreams to, as they say wish upon a Star. I daydreamed at night and during the day, and I most prefer the night time. When the stars are out, something magical just seems to come over me. When I'm up in the mountains I try to find the darkest place I can at night to watch the shooting stars, in the satellites go by to me the constellations amongst the Stars are the most incredible thing. This universe that we live in the endless universe is my numbing

When things get rough

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about the trials and tribulations of marriage, and getting through the rough spots and staying together. It's a bend but don't break mentality. It's truly what a marriage should be like, for that matter any relationship. They're always going to be ups and downs but if there's a true love no matter if it's a friendship marriage girlfriend boyfriend situation if there's a true love you'll work things out most of the time. And it doesn't matter what anybody else is saying. They should just be concerned with their own lives and take a look in the mirror. Usually when that happens those people have many more problems than you do. So when things get rough, as they say, the tough get going.

You can be

By Howard Aronson

This is a quirky little lyric, with some humor to it, and just written they very rhythmic way it's things you can be both positive and negative, and the same and opposite. I don't really know how I thought of it, just kind of evolved from one line to the next.

After you were gone

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about my best friend ever, my grandfather. He was my mom's dad, and he was a self-made man. He had to leave school in the 9th grade to help support 11 brothers and sisters. He went to work at the electric company where he learned how to be an electrician. He eventually started working for someone as an electrician, and then started in his own business. He had a few trucks, and Men working for him. I used to go with him and be his helper, but me being me, I always wanted to know when lunch was, or if we could take a coffee break, things like that. But he taught me many lessons, and I realize them later in life. I know he was always proud of me no matter what but he just couldn't figure out how I would throw my life away for drugs and alcohol. I was sober when he died, and I know that he's looking down on me now, and always remains in my corner. I'll never forget him, I'll always love him.

Breaking all the time is a song about waking up one day and finding the one you love has left and gone. You wish them well, while at the same time going through hell.
