There is always a reason why people do bad things. And it's never their own fault. Blame it on your pain. That seems to work best when you are confronted with the consequences of your action. It worked for me. Then I grew up.
A song about someone finding it increasingly difficult to cope with the pressures of modern, urban existence and the constant struggle to get by in an environment that often feels like a war zone. A need to escape, to break out and find a place to recover and take stock.
I was scrolling the internet and happened upon a video of a mother shooting, in court, the man who murdered her 7-year-old daughter Anna, after he sexually assaulted her. The look on that mother's face was breathtaking. These lyrics were inspired by that look.
