This song adopts a conversational tone between a person and his/her deceased loved one. These lyrics are extremely unstructured, and do not follow the normal song structure. This piece focuses extreme importance on the chorus, which has multiple aspects, elements, and divisions. It is an extremely complex set of lyrics, to work into a melody and song.
A person, with sudden clarity, speaks of the way forward for society; which involves the criticism of organised religion.
A man, who lives his life as a contract killer, recounts his personal life, outside his job as a hitman. This song explores this characters cognition and the mixed palette of emotions that he endures, everyday.
This song was written about a special someone that I have in my life. They mean the absolute world to me and this song expresses the simplest thing about them that has played a part in my feelings for them from the very beginning. I am the type of person that can very easily connect to others through their eyes. They say eyes are the windows to the soul and I truly believe that that is true. Even more so if you are a deep individual like myself who prefers to look way beyond surface level from the very moment you meet another individual. I feel that it's very important to do that, however, that does not mean that you cannot appreciate the small, simple things that make you grateful to have that special someone in your life. To see so much when looking someone in the eyes, you just know it's beyond a regular connection with that other person, it's something much more special and usually not the same exact thing you will find in other special people you meet in your life. There will always be that one person that's above the rest. It's important to show love, respect and appreciation and doing it in a creative and/or artistic ways is one of the best ways I feel someone could go about doing it.
I wrote thing song at a time where I felt a mixture of hope and desperation. This song is not only a call to those that are proud to be deep, intellectual individuals but it's also a call to those that have yet to awaken the deeper, darker, more intense parts of themselves. The parts of themselves that are very important if they are ever to become whole. Before writing these lyrics, I had gotten inspired by a close friend of mine who I could always see really deep into. Although they have made it a part of their life path to show others the way to awakening, I can see within them that they themselves have not fully awakened and have yet to see the full picture, what's truly in front of them. They focus so hard on helping others, which I have always found incredible but they forget about themselves. The question really is, how much longer can you help others when you haven't even finished helping yourself? These particular feelings I have about this person come and go, they aren't consistent. However, I can tell that fully awakening is a struggle for this person and writing these lyrics was a way for me to reach out to them and not just tell them, but show them that I am here and will help them move along their path and the process towards awakening.
