This is my latest lyric, and it's about my addiction. I'm using some baseball analogies to hammer home the point, that no one can beat their addiction alone. Trying to do it alone is something that I have done many times and realize now that I can no longer continue to think that way. Unfortunately for me I've had a lot more than three strikes, and I was down and out many times. But fortunately for me I've been able to bounce back and this time at 62 years old and almost 3 years sober I realize I can't do it alone and I won't try to do it alone anymore. One day at a time I will be able to succeed in keeping my addiction at Bay as long as I involve the help of others.
A song about a loved one whom is never proud of you no matter what you accomplish and always shames you whether it be in public, on social media, etc., just know that there are people who are proud of you and forget those who aren’t. Do your thing, honey.
A song about recovery from self-harm and atypical anorexia nervosa. Really, this song could probably be about any version of recovery. All I know is that we are all worthy of getting the help we need and there is no shame in admitting we’re addicts. Remember, admittance I’d the first step to recovery!
A song about schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder, written first-hand. This is my experience with schizoaffective bipolar disorder; everyday is such a struggle, but we can pull through. We WILL pull through, I promise you this. Long song, beware!!!
A song for all the dented cans out there; you are beautiful, you don’t need a man to prove to yourself that you are worthy. Just keep being you and keep shining, because even dented cans get purchased from stores. I love you! Keep up the great work, I know how hard it is. I’m proud of every step you take.
