This song can be against any ideology that starts good but ends badly, but when I wrote it, it was against punk rock. Punk rock groups from the 70s claim that punk means freedom and doing what you like, while nowadays punk rockers are clones. It can be applied to other ideologies, really.
This song is about someone dying, and how you find it hard, especially after you've heard the news, to keep it together.
This song is about love, trying it out for the sake of this person you really admire, because you think sparks can fly.
You can make this song about someone who's hurt you, or someone you don't really like. In my case, it was about a person who looked so forward-thinking and righteous, until they betrayed one of my friends.
