Hold Me Up
A song about an alcoholic man who can't seem to keep himself on the wagon. He keeps drinking, and he keeps coming home wanting help from his woman to hold him up. For me, this song is really emotional and is relevant to a lot of different people who struggle with alcohol and are looking for someone strong to help them through it.

I don’t know what it’s like to win
Well, I failed and I fell again
I’m walking in, feel broken in two
I’m reaching for a crutch
Yeah, I know, I do this too much
But if you don’t mind, I’d like to lean on you
(Chorus)
So won’t you hold me up
‘Til I’m just stable enough
To stand on my own two feet
Cradle me with your love
Babe, I’ve been doin’ rough
Sometimes cannot feel the ground that’s underneath me
So won’t you hold me up
I tried to walk some steps
Fell off with a dozen left
Wasn’t in a state to trot that straight
And I know I’ve needed help
To the point I got no one else
I know you’re strong enough to carry my weight
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
I know you must be tired
But I stay dry in your arms
And though I’ve walked back to the rain
This time might just be the charm
(Chorus)
