The Passing

(Edward McBride)

This is a sad song about a woman, a mother who contracts cancer and declines rapidly. The family is devastated at this turn of events and it is in the hands of her doctors and God. She sees the white light as she is reunited with her parents.

I'm dying I know There's no healthy glow My time is quite near I have no real fear Look after the children When mommy is gone Remember my smile I cry for a while Chorus Cancer struck fast It's all in the past The morphine helps As I scream and yelp I am becoming so weak I barely can speak My family is there As I am laid bare The doctors decide The patient is going Please ask the nurse To bring in my purse I see the white light God's calling me home My parents are waiting In anticipation Chorus Cancer struck fast It's all in the past The morphine helps As I scream and yelp I am becoming so weak I barely can speak My family is there As I am laid bare

The Abyss

By Edward McBride

This song is about a guy whose wife suddenly dies; they had no kids. He starts to drink excessively and spirals downwards, losing his home. He has no other family near him, and he hits the bottom --the abyss. He finds the inner strength to change as he knows it is a long road back. He has the shakes; he sees the demons and screams out because he thinks that they are coming to get him. After a long haul he has climbed the abyss.

The hunt

By Edward McBride

This song is a complicated mess. A woman is cheated on by her husband and best friend. She is suspicious and hires a private investigator who confirms her worst fears. The mentality of males from cavemen to present day is to go on the hunt for a woman or as many as he can have sex with. Her best friend who no longer has that status becomes a willing participant in taking away her husband. After hitting a low point and having faith that not all men are the same, she starts to date again.
