The lies in my head have kept me from where I'm supposed to be going Polluting my thoughts and dreams, the lies are so cunning I need a brain lie detector Someone find me a lie protector I need strength I need inner fortitude I need to live life With a more positive attitude Negativity fuels the lies Like throwing fuel on a fire But positivity an optimism Exposes and defeats the liar I need a brain lie detector Someone find me a lie protector The lies in my head Have kept me from Where I'm supposed To be going Polluting my thoughts and dreams The lies are so cunning I need a brain lie detector Someone find me a lie protector

Sang Like Elvis

By Brian Hendrix

Far and away, one of the best I ever wrote, and I have no idea where I even came up with the idea. A song jumped into my head during the middle of a power outage in a thunderstorm, and I kept wondering "Where have I heard that song before?" Turns out, I hadn't. It was just playing in my head, so I wrote it. A gift from the thunder, maybe. About a guy telling a story of his uncle who used to be a popular Elvis impersonator for a living. I'm in love with this song. I'm hesitant to list it here. I really like how the first verse drops clues but doesn't flat-out say it, then the chorus is mainly Elvis popular song titles that I tied in together. I happen to think it's clever and catchy, but I'm biased.
