91DIVOC
It's about COVID19 turning so much upside down, but that is why I wrote the title backwards. I hope it is understood, cause this is also about hope and people coming together, and what we leave for children.
I'll be honest, not haveing had covid19 here in cambodia made me feel like I did npt have the right to talk, but enough people I knew were affected, so pen to paper it is. And in case you do not know, I am from South Africa.

COVID 19, you horrible thing
A world turned upside down, Australia almost drowned
Masked fear and all gatherings prohibited
Karaoke and bars, and even church for the spirited
Lucky am I, Cambodia is my home
Unlucky am I, for none of the schools are open
Lucky am I, so many helping me get through
Family and friends, and a few tutor jobs too
But so what, who am I to complain
So many people passed away in pain
And in my country many lost all
Businesses, money, their homes, their soul
In my country, a strict rule enforced from atop
Stay inside your house 6 months, only 1 person a day may shop
And those who shopped for fags and alcohol
Got brutally gunned by police with rubberballs
Was it not once said, by someone great I forget
That a time of strife should be the set
Upon which we all show that we are all
Willing to help so we can get through it all
For as harsh as it is now, I take away from no-one
The pain is impossible when you lose a loved-one
But for those of us that are lucky to still be here
The children should feel our hope, and never our fear
Let's give them a future like the past we know
Let's give them all our prayers and every our hope
And let's say "yes" evertime they want to play
And put our organisers and cellphones away
