Gone Again

(Yelroch Stevens)

Gone Again is about a man who has dealt with his wife's addiction in the past. So when she packs up again to chase her dreams he already knows the outcome. He doesn't want to be that guy who just gives up, but with two young girls he would rather close the book than go back to a previous chapter that wasn't good for anyone.

Verse I woke up this morning And you weren’t here Left a note on the mirror saying ‘This is my year’ You’re gone again Got the girls up at six And got them ready for school We had breakfast without you Because you’re off playing the fool Gone again It’s been over a month We haven’t heard a thing Tried calling your cell But all it ever does is ring You’re gone again Took the girls to your parents They just couldn’t believe That their precious little angel Could just pack up and leave Gone again Chorus Maybe I’m at fault Maybe I’m to blame Saved you in the past But I won’t be saving you again I hope this time is different And you keep your demons at bay I won’t tell the girls that Mummy’s high on cocaine Verse I see you got that part Got the paper in the mail Back page local starlet I fucking hope you fail You’re gone again I need you to understand I’m not jealous I’m being mean My priorities are straight While you’re off playing the queen Gone again I take it that we’re over Guess we’re really through I’ll play my part as Dad And raise the girls without you You’re gone again You’re movie wrapped a month ago Saw it on the news Your glitzy glamour attitude Leading man kissing you Gone again Chorus Maybe I’m at fault Maybe I’m to blame Saved you in the past But I won’t be saving you again I hope this time is different And you keep your demons at bay I won’t tell the girls that Mummy’s high on cocaine Verse This reminds me of the last time Rehab, drugs and booze Award nights and parties All the late night interviews You’re gone again My lawyer called today Said there’s papers I need to sign Guess I’ll see you in court Cause you ain’t no wife of mine Gone again The call came through at midnight Saying the news isn’t good It was your Mum and your dad ‘Claire od’d in Hollywood’ You used again We attended your funeral Showed who really cared Not a soul came from tinsel town Only gossip to be shared You’re dead again Chorus Maybe I’m at fault Maybe I’m to blame Saved you in the past Should have saved you again I hoped this time was different But your demons came to play I won’t tell the girls that Mummy died from cocaine End verse You’re out there chasing stars again Leaving behind just about everything Just thinking of yourself Never needing anyone else You’re out there chasing stars again You’re out there chasing stars again You’re out there You’re out there

A Hard Drinking Gambling Man

By Yelroch Stevens

A hard drinking gambling man is a song about loss. How ones addictions can take away everything they hold dear. And when all the good is gone, all you have left are the demons that chased them off. But we only start counting our losses in life when theirs nothing left to lose.

Thymian ist kein Tee

By Jones Lyrics

Genre/Style I was thinking of: Indi-Pop, Singer/Songwriter, Indi-Electronic, Alternative Artist(s) I was thinking of: Kraftklub, Von Wegen Lisbeth, Bilderbuch, Kawa Kawa,... Comments: Typische Pop-Struktur. Pre-Chorus statt Bridge. Die Pfeife im Chorus ist eine Anspielung auf René Margrites' Kunstwerk: "Ceci n'est pas ue pipe". Viel Spaß beim Performen!

Still Thinking Of You

By Jenny Yu

The process of moving on from a lost relationship is never linear and it is different for every individual. There will be good days and there will be days where you relapse and it feels like you're back at square one. This song reflects on a personal experience in moving on from heartbreak and the inner battles that my mind underwent to get through this stage of my life.

After you were gone

By Howard Aronson

This is a lyric about my grandfather, who is my best friend growing up. He was a self-made man, who had his own business as an electrician, and took me out to help him and taught me so many different lessons. If only I remembered those lessons and I didn't realize a lot of things that he taught me until after he was gone. I think if he could see me now he'd be very proud but there were times when he was alive that I was using and couldn't understand it and I'm sure after he was gone and he looked down at me and saw me abusing my life that he was saddened and could not explain why a fine young man who had all the abilities in the world to do anything he wanted, would throw away his life like that. I really miss my grandfather today, and I really reach back and try to take away things that he taught me and put them to use in my life today
