Loved for Real
As a southern man, a lot of what I looked up to in life growing up were cowboys. I always have possessed sort of a cowboy-like persona about my life, and particularly in my writing. This song is about all those different sorts of men a woman could love, but loving a cowboy is the best choice she's going to make.

A doctor could love ya
Give you a long life
And a lawyer could care
But you're argue all night
While a politician just lies
And he cheats, he schemes, and he steals
A businessman's rich and wise
Knows all about a-loan
And a soldier seems good
But he might not come home
But there's a cowboy for you
If you wanna be loved for real
(Chorus)
So saddle up, baby
Let's put on our spurs
And ride through these canyons
On ponies, his and hers
Let's rustle 'em up, and lead the herd home
Hold tight to each other, so we're never alone
If you're looking for something that's some way to heal
Then choose a cowboy, baby, if you wanna be loved for real
A teacher could school ya
But, Lord, he just won't learn
And a fireman might heat up
So much you'll get burned
And a policeman seems noble
But his suspicion keeps you on your heels
A plumber fixes leaks
But ain't built for the flood
A farmer sews what he reaps
Might not be good enough
But there's a cowboy for you
If you wanna be loved for real
(Chorus x2)
