Keepers of the Flame

(Dawn Isbell Wilson)

This uplifting anthem celebrates the power of community and the enduring spark of hope. Through vivid imagery of rivers, forests, cities, and skies, the lyrics weave together a journey from darkness into light. The refrain, “We are the keepers of the flame”, becomes a rallying cry for unity, resilience, and shared purpose. Whether sung in a sanctuary, on a stage, or around a campfire, the song invites listeners to stand together, carry hope forward, and let their light shine for all to see.

Verse While rivers run through canyons deep And sunlight plays while shadows creep We join together young and old In every heart a story told Chorus We are the keepers of the flame Our thoughts entwined with but one aim Ignite the valley, light the sky Bringing hope that will not die Verse While chaos seems to fill the land Our hearts may hurt but we still stand Through city streets where dreams collide When all seems lost, our hopes abide Chorus We are the keepers of the flame Our thoughts entwined with but one aim Ignite the valley, light the sky Bringing hope that will not die Verse XXXXX XXXXXX XXXXX XXXXX XXXXXXX XXX XXXXX XXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXX XXXXX XXX XXXXXX XXX XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXX XXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XX XXX XXXXXXX XXX XXXXXX XXX XXXXX XXX XXXXXX XXX XX XX XXXX XXX XX XXXXX XXXXXX XXX XXX XXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXX XXX XX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXX XXXXX XXXX XXXX XXX XXX

tired of pain

By Laura Spendlingwimmer

I wrote this song after I broke up with my ex boyfriend - I was trying so hard on this relationship and I really wanted it to work but somehow I was the only one who was fighting - after the breakup I was so down and sad and heartbroken because I just wanted a love that lasts and that is real and this is what the song is about - I doubted myself being enough

Exit Interview with God

By Dawn Wilson

It has always disturbed me how some parents, children, or friends can calmly accept an idea that their loved ones might burn for an ETERNITY while they walk the streets of gold, playing harps, or whatever. It’s sad that so many millions of people cling to the cruellest, most horrendous god belief because they are afraid of hell. You have to be some kind of monster, yourself, to truly worship a god that would have created eternal torment for finite crimes. Especially, the crime of disbelief. If I actually believed for one moment that…wait, I honestly did believe it. For three years, from the age of 12 to 15, I was tormented by the idea of my family being tortured forever and ever. Their only crime? Disbelief. I was willing to suffer that same fate because the idea of a heaven without them was unthinkable to me. When I left the church, I fully believed I would go to hell and I didn’t care because I was done worshipping a monster.

No Pressure

By Annabel Chima

This song is quite niche...it's about gate-keeping the Exotical Community - for ALL Exoticals (Dark-Skinned, Brown-Skinned, Light-Skinned) - basically people who are Mixed/Admixed or 'look Mixed'. Further to this, it is about forming a safe space for us - or perhaps a new 'World' for us where we leave behind the outdated systems and form our own communities... I focus on the need to protect the young ones/the kids so that certain cycles don't repeat. I grew up hearing people bombard me with questions like, "What are you Mixed with?" and even had adults not believing my parents are my parents or saying I should "question them" about where I "really" come from (insinuating that my parents were hiding a certain DNA admixture in my bloodline from me)...I do not want my 'future' kids to go through that and I know that many Mixed/Admixed people can relate to this. I want my 'future' Exotical kids to be surrounded by other Exoticals who understand them/their looks/phenotype/ethnic background etc, not a society that constantly pokes at their looks and analyses how 'exotic' they look 24/7. We are often criticised more than others and feel the pressures to perform well or be 'perfect' in society. Additionally, it is not our fault that the world pedestalises us; we should own who we are, what we look like, and our accomplishments; I want us to be free, hence the song title, 'No Pressure'. The lyrics are just an Ode to ALL Exoticals - I want solidarity between us...do with it as you please! Genres: Rap, Hip Hop, RnB, Trap, Drill, Country, Poetry.
