Sunday Morning Going Home

(Free Deeks)

After the excitement of a lively Saturday night there's the come down. After saying goodnight to your friends and acquaintances, making your way back to where you live your thoughts might turn to last night and tomorrow. Contemplation on the way things are going and the way things might be going. The afterglow hangover.

Gone are the bright lights, the sounds and the action We ran with the night, shaking dust from our bones Up comes the sun, still walking through last night’s dreams Sunday morning going home Purple hearts pumping, pistons are slowing down The dull of the daylight bathed in monochrome As ordinary seeps into our fantasies Sunday morning going home As I travel back to a cold and lonely past I sought a warm and friendly name I set light to a hope that smoulders on Burned my bridges with its flame The up has gone the down has come Spinning headlong to the edge From a barroom we celebrate alone Sunday morning, going home Sunday morning, going home

Johnny's Driven By

By Free Deeks

We've all looked back and thought of a musician, actor, playwright etc who we wished we'd seen at the height of their fame and abilities. this piece of work tries to sum up the feeling of having missed that artist and knowing that you're not going the chance to see them again. There's also a hint of anger at the cause or reason of their passing.

She Wouldn't Like

By Free Deeks

Having been involved in the 'entertainment' industry for quite a while, I have become accustomed to a certain amount of exaggeration and liberty taking with the truth. This can add to the entertainment value of the conversation although, and this is the reason for the song, a friend of mine intensely dislikes untruths of any form. I'm trying to show that life isn't black and white and truth and lies are in the eyes of the beholder.

The Man Who Murdered Love

By Free Deeks

I use extreme 'whodunnit' murder plots to describe being somebody who is unable to maintain a relationship. Without necessarily meaning to, he finds that through a rather heavy handed approach he manages to 'kill' off any chance of making the bond work.

Words On The Wind

By Free Deeks

There is a feel of hot sandy desert and warm evening breezes. I was inspired by the atmosphere of Southern California and Mexico. The loss of a loved one, not knowing what happened then finding out through a third party. There is a feeling of the loss, but also the calmness of the extreme heat and gentle winds.

Not Worth It!

Upbeat feel good song about not letting mindless people ruining your day or getting you down. Have both tune and catchy rolling guitar riff for this song if anyone is ever interested!

Through Your Eyes

By Annabel Chima

This lyric was also inspired by Mariah Carey's 2005 song, 'We Belong Together'. I wanted to capture the dramatic emotions of feeling like you are close to a breaking point or even close to death - surviving and rising from what could have broken you. This lyric describes the unbreakable bond between two lovers; they would be willing to do anything to save each other, as they share a bond so deep, they see life through each other's eyes. The vibes/atmosphere is very romantic, deep, hopeful, and triumphant. There is a spiritual element to it also. Genres: Pop, Indie/Rock, Ballads.
