About a guy who goes out every day to find a mourning dove singing a sad song in his yard, but the guy has grown used to sitting out there and singing with the bird like they're friends.

This is a lighthearted song with a more serious tone in subject matter. It's more or less like a breakup song, and something that most people can probably relate to pretty well.
