This lyric describes the inevitable feelings that resurface when we remember something in particular; this could be an ex-lover, an old friend, a past life, an embarrassing experience/trauma, and of course, obsessive thoughts in general. The lyric focuses on a particular person as the object of the memory - they almost feel a bit guilty for remembering someone who was supposed to stay in their past. The overall vibes/atmosphere is contemplating, fearful, dark, yet mystical, but there are also hopeful elements towards the end of the song.
