It’s also about battling your inner conscience, the voice inside that may sometimes tell you things you don’t like to hear a voice I associate with depression. But ultimately trying to find a way through to the other side.
This song is about how society blurs your lesne as you walk through your life, almost as if you are "intoxicated". It also mentions how there are many obstacles and traps you can get sucked into. In the end, you will figure out that you are the one in charge, and that you should take control.
I wrote this song about the concept of loving someone you're not supposed to love and having it be an unrequited kind of feeling, and how after moving on and getting over them, they finally love you back. It makes you question their intentions and what they ever wanted.
