The singer is desperate to see hope, but they can´t anymore, so they ask whoever is listening to shine a light so they know they are not alone in the world.

The singer is unsure whether they are gonna make it or not and has given up hope, but then the person who supports them comes back, restoring their hope and giving them the strength to go on.
