Still Breathing

(Free Deeks)

After deception within and the break up of a relationship, two people meet again. There’s some bitterness and a little defiance.

From my stairs I can see you move Cosmetic features I knew I’d lose Your perfume woke me from my dream You wafted past, a muted scream It was odd to see you for a while Your make-up’s cracking don’t make me smile It was strange to see you once again But not my ally, love and friend Someone prayed for me to leave Someone we know who’s well received But I don’t walk now, I glide I may be somewhere else, but I’m the same inside It was odd to see you for a while Your make-up’s cracking don’t make me smile It was strange to see you once again But not my ally, love and friend I wasn’t talking money And I’ve been wasting time I’m over you now that I’m Still breathing One more look before I turn away One more touch before we both decay Time to forget, I won’t regret While your perfume lingers, we’re not dead yet It was odd to see you for a while Your makeup’s cracking, don’t make me smile It was strange to see you once again But not my ally, love and friend I wasn’t talking money And I’ve been wasting time I’m over you now that I’m Still breathing

Crowd

By Clairine T.

A relationship between two people with vastly different personalities and perspectives doesn't always work out well. When people are too different, there could never be a middle ground, and a huge rift is created that could not be crossed by themselves or anyone else for that matter. You could say that that kind of relationship is toxic, impossible to fix, that they should go their separate ways before things get worse between them. But when those two people are each other's closest companion, the fear of having no one else by their side often overrides how huge that rift is. Nothing could come out of it, but they only have each other. Though they aren't close and don't understand one another like how friends, or family, should, they are still marginally better than strangers, and sometimes that alone is enough to make them stay in that permanent stalemate.
