This is a lyric about opposites. It makes you want to look toward the positive side of things such as if there's pain there's also pleasure if there's sadness there's also Joy if there's no money you can still be rich. I truly believe that you have to look on the bright side of things no matter what is going on in your life sometimes it's not easy to do, but if you try I think you can find the light, and find some positive things that come out of being on the downside.
A broken lullaby is a metaphor for the voices in our heads telling us that we are not enough and that our life is meaningless. The lullaby symbolically tries to put you to sleep, but sleep, in this sense, is neverending. Our everyday demons try to make us believe that our sadness is forever, even though it isn't.
This song is about living with someone who's bad for you and whose antics can't help but get on your nerves, be it a significant other, a sibling or a parent.
This lyric is a very angry one. It's about a relationship that has just gone totally wrong, it has been going bad for a while. The woman gets so fed up that she finally tells him how she really feels. That he makes her sick., And don't come back anymore. That's something she's wanted to say for a long time but couldn't he thinks that everything's fine in that all he has to do is cry some tears and she'll take him back. But not this time. She knows that she would love to seek revenge in some way, and the only way that she can do that is just to tell him to leave. She won't stoop to his level and do something like he did to her which was cheat.
This lyric is about what your life is like when you're using drugs, it's bleak. It's amazing that I wrote this lyric while I'm sober, because it reminds me so much of being high. You know I know that I'm a smart guy, but I don't know where it all went wrong and how my life became such a living hell. I really needed to find answers, and I found them in a higher power or in other words God, I find them in my meetings, I find them in meetings with my therapist, and I find them when I just have discussions with myself. It's really important to be introspective. Today my life is not bleak, it's full of happiness and joy.
