This song describes the joy and ecstasy of a guy who thinks that he has found the love of his life. Their thoughts on how this relationship will progress are in stark contrast to one another.
This is when I was struggling with anorexia(I’ve struggled with both bulimia and anorexia) and nobody offered me help, even when I literally cried for it. So this is basically me talking to myself and about myself and trying to better me for me. I was all alone in this so I had to help myself. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. And I still, at times, struggle with eating because since I had to do it on my own I never fully recovered.
I was checking Netflix for those original Superman movies, Christopher Reeve, and only found Supergirl. I'm a country music writer. Even still, I challenged myself to write a song that could be used as a theme for a superhero show, movie, series, etc. Five minutes later, this is what I had come up with. I think it's a great song. It's really about a girl who thinks she needs to be the best at everything to be loved, but the truth is that life is indifferent to you. Even if you're a hero, they only care about the hero, not about you, and they'll forget your name when you're gone. But it's laced with superhero references so hopefully I can one day hear it on a Netflix show. Enjoy.
