This is my first country song, it's based on a fools life, and that fool is me. I went 9 years clean, and during that time a good 6 years without even kissing a girl. You have to relearn some things. I had been the drunken crazy guy. The girls went out with me to show their wildness, or upset their parents, or current or ex-spouse. Once I got a taste again I was off and running. Let a bunch of fine, honest, loving ones slip through my fingers. Maybe cause my fingers were busy texting the next victim or grabbing her behind. Now older, alone, I have some regrets. But I wouldn't trade a one of them. Cause I do love the women.
Happy Birthday song. Life is like a book they say, you write new pages, chapters from day to day, till a whole year has gone by. Then is time to shine, celebrate! Happy Birthday to you!
Another song for the Angel on 9th Street. As I call her. She is truly beautiful, most of all her eyes. At the time I was struggling with life in general. It sometimes took as little as a thought of her eyes to give me courage, or motivation to keep trying.
Talks about the black sheep in the family. The one who gets neglected the most no matter how hard they try to stand out.
