These lyrics are an adaptation from a play written by Shakespeare. The play is quite long and at times hard to read. So, I gave up and read the cliff notes. I tried to capture the spirit of the tragedy. It is not word for word. And I made a lot of changes. It was that wonderful name he gave to the main character that intrigued me, Othello. What a great name. Also, in writing these lyrics, I thought about how humans recall things. We remember events by experiencing them with our senses. Have you ever smelled something and immediately remembered an event that smelled like that? Roses smell like my high school prom. Vanilla smells like Christmas. Sounds also can send us back in time. Loud bangs put me in a warzone. Lawnmowers remind me of summer. You get the picture. Enjoy.
I love peaches. Nothing better. But there are other life forms that I am certain love them more. I dedicate these lyrics to the lovers of fruit. The ones with two legs and the ones with two wings. The ending is a bit bitter, but Mother Nature brought us into this world, and she can take us out. Enjoy.
With a J.Cole/chill type of vibe to it, hungry is about holding onto life despite all the downs it throws your way
