This song is describing a strong black woman putting a man in check (in a seductive way). She wants him to know that he needs to treat her right and know that she doesn't need him.
This rap was done as a woman going back through her memories and realizing how horrible her life was. She's going back to certain memories when she was 16, trying to give advice to get younger self.
This is like a beauty and the beast story where the only redemption for cruelty is true love. Love begets love. You don't have to force someone to have feelings for you.
