A broken lullaby is a metaphor for the voices in our heads telling us that we are not enough and that our life is meaningless. The lullaby symbolically tries to put you to sleep, but sleep, in this sense, is neverending. Our everyday demons try to make us believe that our sadness is forever, even though it isn't.
No matter how hard we try, some relationships simply don't work out. This type of a breakup hurts even more because you know you've given it your all and it still didn't work out. You're bound to leave a person you still love with your whole heart, knowing that, there is nothing else you can do.
A song about how fame, money, and a successful career aren't always the best things that can happen to you. Sometimes these assets can lead to addiction and detachment from one's feelings and relationships.
A song about that one period of teenage life when everything else seems so distant and the present seems so surreal yet so lost in love and alcohol.
A song about a relationship full of turmoil and lies. Sometimes these lies can get into your head to the point that they become closer to the truth than they ever should be while the other person is the one who's actually destroying the relationship.
