Marquis Smith

Marquis Smith is an talented lyricist. Inspired by rock and metal genres. Come take a deep dive into the abyssal depth of despair! Mainly drawing influence from death/doom and hard rock (upon others). Lyrical themes usually center around (but not limited to) lust, greed, hypocrisy of religion and well...life in general. His work is the dead flowers he holds sacred. Now he wishes to share them with you. May you hold them dear to your heart as well. Enjoy my friend.

These lyrics describe the vanity of knowledge. It also deals the task of describing a never end mind. How we wish to silence thought. If only we could. There's mention of chasing one's dream only to see another dream in the distance. The only thing certain is death. Preferred genres: Technical Death Metal
A.D. abbreviation for Access Denied are lyrics centered around religious figures who use the church for monetary value as well as place burdens on the weaker. This also coincide with the Pharisee of biblical days who were thought to be clean outwardly but was exposed as unclean. Genres: Alternative Metal/Progressive Metal
This piece is about a man seemingly cursed like the Job of the biblical days. This details his descent in unbelieve. The lyrics are doom/death metal inspired. My most honest piece of literature to date. Not really rhyme schemed as to retain the authenticity of mood portrayed by work. Second verse follows AAAA but nothing after so I will listed as no rhyme scheme. Unlike the story in the bible where God did answer Job. Here we see the man cry out from his personal thorn plaguing his life. There was no response!!!
Ever been fed up?! Ever had someone you wish you could trust but they just keep screwing you over again and again until you decide enough is enough! Until you decide not to fall for it!
This is about a man's faith (or the lack thereof). He seems to be plagued all his life with grief & despair! It is as if some unseen force have mark him woefully. He tried so desperately to cling to faith but ultimately becomes faithless. He comes to the realization that the very freedom he sought (faith) was the very freedom that enslaved him.
