This is a song of triumph, expressing faith in an all-powerful God Who is more than able to keep us safe in perilous times such as these in which we find ourselves. The Verses speak of His Word is a lamp and a light in darkest of times (Psalm 119:105), and a tower we can run to when the fight lands at our door. Because of such blessed assurance, we have a response of faith-proclamation in the Chorus, committing our lives unreservedly into His almighty hands, where He has inscribed our names, and where we are sheltered by His love. In His unfailing arms, His grace covers all our shame, and we have victory over the greatest of fears: death! This confidence in our God is followed up in the Bridge, which borrows heavily from Psalm 91, a famous passage that talks about God's protection for His people that is provided for in the covenant He has with us in Christ.

The song talks about the unfailing faithfulness of God. He keeps us safe in the valley of death (Psalm 23:4), and guides our way in the wilderness of life. He is the eternal God, and remains the same through every age; His faithfulness cannot change. Those are the ideas conveyed in the Verses. The Chorus is a confession of our faith in His character: mountains may fall, storms may roar, the sun may burn crazy, and the flames may come bursting in but, still, in the midst of it all, He remains God; He remains good. Because of the assurance of His presence with us in such difficult times, we cannot but cling to His love, and to the truth of His promises given to us in His Word. The Bridge magnifies His Name above all else, speaking of His exceedingly surpassing greatness, above that of anyone or anything else we may be tempted to put our trust in.

The song tells the entire Gospel story in a nutshell. By submitting to the Father's will, as difficult as it was for Him, Jesus purchased remission of sins for the whole world on the Cross. As a result, in Christ, we have redemption (Ephesians 1:7). He also talked about the many mansions in His Father's house that He said He was going to make ready for those who receive the gift of salvation (John 14:1-3). Those are the main themes expressed in the two Verses. The end lines tell us the purpose for all this: so every nation and all creation can give high praise to God for His marvelous love towards us revealed in the vicarious sacrifice of Christ. The Chorus and Post-Chorus are a response showing our commitment to spread the news. This culminates in the Bridge which states that it's all for the glory of His Name, and that we are giving no excuses as we embark on this great commission.

The death of Christ on the Cross ushered us into liberty from the bondage of sin. The icing on the cake is that His ministry didn't end there; He lives on as our High Priest before the Father, interceding for us daily in order that He may present us to God blameless on the last day (1 Thessalonians 5:23). What a Gospel, one so glorious that He has entrusted us to take its message to those in our worlds so that they too can receive the blessings of its truth; to bring them home to love, faith and hope, the three eternal principles of the Kingdom (1 Corinthians 13:13). The other mind-blowing reality of this is that we have been raised with Christ to a position of authority where we rule in victory in His Name (Ephesians 2:4-6). These are the themes expressed in this song, and the Bridge invites all to bring high praise to the risen King who brought us back to God, and defeated man's greatest fear: the sting of deaths.

Times come when relationships go through turbulence of one form or another. Such are the flames which test the strength of our commitment to each other. This is the case in this song; the two lovers have just come out of a serious disagreement "so bruised." From it, the girl has come up with a lot of new rules; adjustments she wants the two of them to make, which are bound to turn the tables and rearrange their whole life. Earlier on she had said she was comfortable with the man calling the shots; now, with the changes she's proposing, her actions beg the question: was she really honest with herself when she settled for the way things have been? Among them, she wants them to stay low key, especially on social media, yet she wasn't as loud as the guy was. She also doesn't want him to tell her what to do, but had earlier said she wanted him to guide her, given he's older and has a lot more experience with relationships. She is also not comfortable with them going for hang outs at the guy's brother's place, where she had been comfortable before. Beside all that, she requires much more attention, raising issues with the guy being online and not talking with her, while he's there trying to find a job, which is something she had been pushing to do. Now she's left him "fears for the trust" he had before. What are her intentions? Is she putting one leg out? Or is she just taking it slow?
