This started as a talking blues song, with every forth line saying "On my way to leave you," but it ended up sounding too much like Townes' "Dollar Bill Blues" in cadence. So I reworked it here. It has a bit more of a talking-blues song cadence but certainly doesn't have to. It's about a guy who wants to leave his woman but can't bring himself to do it, so he gets around this by ensuring himself that today's the day... though he keeps finding excuses not to leave.

In thought of those suffering from COVID-19, and in memory of those who died. You are still a hero, you fought the good fight. And my heart goes out to the families of loved ones suffering; isolating themselves and having to live with the guilt of knowing their loved one is sick and fading. Just give it to God. You are loved.

These lyrics are about me trying to express my feelings for a guy I’ve been talking to. He calls me babe and tells me he wants me, but doesn’t want to be exclusive. I really want him as more than a friend with benefits and I know it’s hard for me to have relationships but somehow I feel this will be the end of my searching. Now I just have to tell the guy how I feel, which is very hard considering I don’t want to jeopardize what we already have. Anyways, I hope you enjoy it and if you’re going through the same predicament, feel free to buy it!
