This is a song about people who used to worry about me all the time. I was so depressed for so many years, and getting high to self medicate. But now that I've gotten sober, I'm much more positive person, and I understand about acceptance, and giving up my will to always be right. And I just feel like people don't have to worry about me anymore, although I know they probably will.
A song about those transient and trivial earthly things, and how in the light of eternity, rather than growing "strangely dim" as the old hymn says, they grow "strangely bright," illuminated, even in their insignificance, by the great significance of their Creator, and by the hope of resurrection. This is a song about people that have been active in addiction, and then get sober. Instead of trying to compare our differences or think that would different in that I'm not as bad as you, this song really tells the story about how we're really the same we're a lot like each other. And when we can do that, and realize that we can help each other to get by for one day
