Closer to You
A fun, relatively short song I wrote about a guy who's not above doing whatever it takes to be with this girl that he met. We have all in life undoubtedly met someone who had this sort of effect on us. I think it came together pretty well.

I remember all the lessons that my daddy taught me
And the first nice thing that my mama bought me
Said I was a good kid, followed every rule they laid out
But the first time I seen ya, nearly lost my mind
You're impossible to miss, the way your eyes shine
If I have to be bad to get ya girl, then I will, no doubt
(Chorus)
I ain't above lyin', if you wanna know the truth
I'll step right over that line, exactly what I'll do
I might even now and then go and break a few rules
As long as it gets me closer to you
Can't say I've ever really been in trouble before
Yes, sir; no, ma'am, and holdin' open those doors
A goody two-shoes in his work boots, that I paid for in full
But that angel on my shoulder knows that you're so right
That he'd let the devil do anything, not thinking twice
You'd make a sinner from a saint, pushed into crime by your pull
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
You're the type of girl we just don't see every day
You might make a man forget that crime just doesn't pay
(Chorus)
