Second Fiddle
Not a big story behind this one. One of those songs that you wake up at 4a.m. to write because it's stuck in your head. I always imagined Chris Stapleton's voice carrying this one. Pretty self-explanatory as to what the song means.

Baby, I ain't built for the background
And sure 'nough not your cage
You won't cast me in a supporting role
Because I always take center stage
I ain't much of an understudy
I'm Romeo, but you can be his buddy
I'm the big name on the marquee
People come from miles around to see
(Chorus)
I don't play second fiddle in the band
Watch me go, get 'em on their toes
And the ladies start to clap their hands
I'm fast and loud, tall and proud
Every lady watching knows
I don't play second fiddle, Lord
'Cause I headline the show
When the spotlight turns on
And I show up to play
The other stars just fade right out
'Cause, baby, I can rock for days
I can whirl a wind or I can keep it patient
When it ends they rise for my ovation
And the ladies start to sing along
Moaning out their favorite song
(Chorus)
When I exit the stage left
And the crowd starts cheerin' my name
I love what I do when I play for you
It's not about the fortune and fame
The time of their life, they smile and laugh
Asking for pictures and autographs
And a call for an encore
The audience still wants more
(Chorus)
