You're Drinkin' Tonight

(Brian Hendrix)

A song about a woman who made the choice to leave her man, and the man warned her that she would be lonely and regret it. The story is basically that he knows she drinks to forget the memories but can't. Kind of just flipping the old country trope about the "Man always drinks" on its head.

If you're all alone, and you start to feel lonely Is a state of mind that we're all in You can pick up the phone, dial it to call me I won't talk until you say when You can hear me breathe and take that as a sign And I'll listen in, hear you sip on that wine (Chorus) Is it red or white That you're drinkin' tonight How many glasses to wash it away Every ache that you feel Might drown now but it still Revisits you soon as you wake You made a choice, now you try to deny... Try to block it all out with the wine That you're drinkin' tonight If you're missin' me and start to regret A choice that I urged you not to make In your misery, I'd wager it's a safe bet You ain't found one to tip salt with his weight The last thing I wanted for you was this grief I tried to warn you to stay, now drink your way to belief (Chorus)

One Night in Heaven

This one's about something you experience with a significant other that goes so right that it doesn't feel real at the moment. It feels like it's just make believe. I wrote this sitting on the porch at about 1am with the small of honeysuckle all through the air, as strong as perfume.

Pain Don't Last

By Brian Hendrix

This is a pretty self explanatory song. The basic story is a guy is heartbroken over his woman leaving him, and people seem to keep meddling in his life, asking if he's okay, and he wants to just be left alone so tells them that he is. This is something a lot of people go through. We need time and peace and room to breathe but can't get it.

Measure of a Man

By Dan Cardwell

This is one of those stream of consciousness type of lyrics; it's partly inspired by recently reading the 'autobiography' of MLK, but more generally, it's about the duality that can exist in one person - that they can be both good and bad.
