[Verse 1] Give one’s entire existence up And maybe that’ll be enough truth To epitomize some kind of sick and twisted Psychological truth You give and they come back for more Some of us are martyrs Others are murderers Why is it the murderers We end up dying for? [Chorus] Sing me a song playing rhythms of acoustic Hypnotize my mind Dreams of you are thoughts so lucid Intertwined, We’re immortal, not human I should’ve known all along Water and Vodka are diluted A secret not so strong Weak alcohol is a desperate fluid After all, Addiction is like a black hole Looking into each other’s pupils A right so wrong Something we can’t control And the stars twinkle alive Next, they die shooting [Verse 2] My mind’s a gift wrapped in a suicidal bow A single thought not a friend, but a foe Death is a vision I see through a tunnel But it’s a split decision, dig my grave I’ll leave a shovel You know, it must be nice not ever having to repeat everything twice And it must be nice being able to sleep with yourself at night And I know when I’m in trouble And the words are blurry, but never the lines I just live, but it’s hard to learn when you’re a rebel [Chorus] X2 Sing me a song playing rhythms of acoustic Hypnotize my mind Dreams of you are thoughts so lucid Intertwined, We’re immortal, not human I should’ve known all along Water and Vodka are diluted A secret not so strong Weak alcohol is a desperate fluid After all, Addiction is like a black hole Looking into each other’s pupils A right so wrong Something we can’t control And the stars twinkle alive Next, they die shooting

Amber gold (often confused for hazel) inspired the lyrics and melody. *open for interpretation* It means whatever the reader understands, if that makes sense.

Queendom of Contentment

By Erika Poling

How I created the song/lyrics: The first verse starts out lower and works it's way up to a soprano C or higher (one-sided). The pre-chorus is higher pitched also. But then, the chorus switches to a melody similar to "Heavy Cross," by the band Gossip. The second verse is similar in pitch (high) to the second part of the first verse; but the second part of the second verse (starting with "Oh, my violet sky") is a lower pitch like the first part of the first verse. I think incorporating a "Billie Eilish" whisper style with a lower, stronger, and harder style-- it would really bring out the meaning of the song and make it more artistic.
