My Hands

(Ken Latulippe)

I associate hands with "doing." There's nothing you can really "do" about heartbreak, there's no actionable solution for that pain. Your hands can't protect you, but they can do a whole lot of other (probably detrimental) things to cope!

[VERSE 1] You’re talking at me but, I don’t know Where to put my hands when you’re here, or where I’ll go You blink at me, I meet your eyes They’re friendly, but all I see is my demise My heart goes beat, beat, sickeningly This warm feeling is a poison, seemingly The thoughts that run, throughout my head To kiss you, tear your clothes off, wish that you’d just leave me dead I think you might just leave me dead [CHORUS] My hands won’t catch me when I fall My hands won’t protect me from it all My hands won’t stop this glass heart when it breaks My hands can’t stop the shards or the injuries they’ll take [VERSE 2] My hands are searching, For something to break My brain is urging, For a drink to take away the ache My eyes are rolling, As I fall to the floor You’re talking at me, but I don’t see you anymore You didn’t want to see me anymore Leaving me is a shove over the edge, Talking to me is a knife plunged through my chest I can’t fault you for the things that you do, I only hope you don't fault me for what I do, too To XXX XXX X XXX XXXXX XXXXX XXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXX XXXXX XXX XXX XXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXX XXXX XX XXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXX XX XXX XXX X XXXX XXXX XXXXX XX X XXXX XXXX XX XXX XXXX XX XXXX XXXXXXXX XX XXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXX XX XXXX X XXXX XX XXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XX XXXX XX XXX XX XXXXX XXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXX XXXXX XXXX XX XXXXXX XX XXXXX XXXXXXX XXXX XXX XXXXXX XX XXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX XXXX XX XXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXX XX XXXX X XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX XXXX XX XXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXX XX XXXX X XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX XXXX XX XXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXX XX XXXX XXXX

It's hard not to be scared that you'll die without having made your mark on the world. It's a little of that, and a little a list of grievances against the system that created that feeling.

Misunderstood

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about my struggles with ADHD. It's something I've had since I was diagnosed at 3 years old. I've been on and off medication for it both legally and with cocaine if you want to call that medication, illegally. ADHD is very challenging to live with. It affects your everyday life, you're interpersonal relationships, and your ability to focus, and think before you act. But there's so many good things about being ADHD. Most people with ADHD are very creative and can be very successful, such as Einstein. If you have the ability to hyperfocus on positive things instead of negative things you could turn your ADHD into an asset. For me it's been bittersweet, as I've used my ADHD to be successful, but also to have it play a part in my downfall. I hope you like this lyric.
