VERSE 1
Beneath these sheets of darkness,
I can see the light of day.
You’ll never see through me,
Try as hard as you may.
If you could only look me in the eyes,
You’d see the frustration and tears that I hide.
But thanks to dark sunglasses,
I can just keep on denying
The emotions that my eyes keep on providing.
PRE-CHORUS
I’ve got my shields on and you can’t phase me.
There is nothing you could do to persuade me
To disengage my protection.
You’re an infection in my mind.
But don’t think you can get to me.
You’re wasting your time.
CHORUS
I’m not blind.
I can see everything beneath these sheets of darkness.
But you’ll never find me
Letting my true emotions be revealed.
UV rays are not all my dark sunglasses shield.
BRIDGE
So I’m gonna put on my fave pair of shades.
Won’t hide behind a smile,
I’ll just wear a straight face.
When I’ve got my sunglasses on,
Nothing can go wrong.
The pain never remains for far too long.
CHORUS
I can see.
But from you, my eyes are hidden away.
Cuz you never care to see the real me, anyway.
