Sometime we realise what we've lost only when it's already gone.
There is a difference between clinginess and pure narcissism, but to those in love that line is often blurred. Being completely in love with your significant other is a beautiful, but being controlling and egoistic is most certainly not. This song speaks about a relationship filled with control, but lacking the most important parts of a successful relationship: love, respect and equality.
Even though some relationships feel perfect due to our adoration for the other person, in most cases the real situation is nowhere near. Perfection is not achievable, but mediocrity is even worse. We should never settle for someone who does not cherish us, but we also shouldn't be the person who doesn't cherish their partner fully. When we feel that something is off and that our love for our partner is simply fading away, it's better to be honest than continue to hurt both ourselves and our partner.
We live in a world where nothing remains sacred, not even life. It feels as if we all care only about ourselves.
The song tells a story of love which feels too good to be true. At times we think that we've found the perfect person when in fact we couldn't be more wrong. The beauty of the person is breathtaking, but their feelings are malicious.
