No more lies

(Howard Aronson)

This song is about being caught up in my addiction, and realizing what a liar I was. I was a thief, I was a taker, I was so selfish. But it's also about divine intervention. God came into my life and helped me get clean and sober. From that point on I saw no use and going backwards, no use in lying through life. Today things are so much different for me, I live a happy positive life, and I get to write about it.

There was a time when I crawled through life Day after day life wasn't any fun But today I can say I'm walking A new life I've begun There used to be a fire in my sky And it wasn't from the Sun Everyday was dark As I was living in my lie I was a liar I was a thief I always wanted to be higher I had a disease I needed to feed If I had a gun I might have shot myself I was on the run Headed to hell Until God intervened I had other plans He helped me get clean And finally become a man I was a liar I was a thief I always wanted to be higher I had a disease I needed to feed Today life is good And I'm not getting high I'm doing what I should No matter what, I get by I'm so grateful I was given another chance I'm no longer hateful I even found romance I was a liar I was a thief I always wanted to be higher I had a disease I needed to feed No more lies No more lies No more lies No more lies No more No, no more Lies

War or rock and roll

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about war and the destruction it causes and the peace it prevents around the world. But it's also about hope, perseverance, and the never ending thought of peace. I believe rock and roll can bring us all together. It has before, and it can do it again. I don't know what I would do without music, and this is a lyric that stresses without music we can't have peace, without rock and roll we can't have peace, it's time to choose war or rock and roll. I choose rock and roll

Victim

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about our government and how they treat our veterans, our homeless, and people with mental illness. It's specifically Target the veterans, because they usually fall into both the homeless and mental illness categories. It's a shame that when veterans come home from defending their country they are treated with such negligence and are an afterthought for our government. This lyric is about a guy named Bobby who came home from the war and found out all too well the real welcome he was going to get.

Good friends

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about some really good friends from high school, when we got together at a reunion. These guys were some of the best friends I've ever had, and in about being in high school and some of the best times I've ever had. They were never any worries during my high school days. All I did was have fun, date women, and play a lot of sports. Our futures were all ahead of us, and some made out better than others. But the saying is true that sometimes good friends go awry and they'll always come back to you. Good friends are hard to find. I still stay in touch with a couple of these guys today, and I cherish that relationship.

Oh Tannis

By Howard Aronson

This lyric is about a girl named Tannis, who I met when I was 23 living in San Francisco. She was truly my first woman that I ever fell in love with. She was from British Columbia, and was only living in San Francisco on a visa to go to college. I knew one day that she would leave to go back, and that our love would probably be no more. Even to this day, at 63 years old, I think about her, and what might have been if she didn't have to go back to Canada.
