I read somewhere that love songs make up 90% of the music market. I have a hard time writing love songs. My lyrics are usually funny, stupid or dark. This song is an example of my limitations. My goal when I started writing these lyrics was to pen a love song and this is what came out.

I had a very active puppy I named Blurt. My brother asked me if he could have it. Because I had decided to join the military, I said OK. When I came home to visit my brother and Blurt, I was told the sad news that Blurt had ran away. I immediately went around the neighborhood looking for him. No luck. I've never told my brother this, but I have always suspected that he dumped Blurt. I was thinking about Blurt today and decided to write some lyrics in his honor. Blurt, if you are still alive, know you were loved.
