I saw her on the dance floor And decided to have one more Then I took a chance And asked her to dance She said yes I would have never guessed I said bartender give her one more And we headed to the dance floor I'm a romancer Not a dancer But this girl was real And the night was surreal Later she took me home And we were all alone I had to take her picture To prove this was not fiction Cuz my friends wouldn't be buying That I wasn't lying Cuz I'm a romancer Just a story enhancer I'm a romancer I'm not a dancer But this girl was real And the night was surreal

Sang Like Elvis

By Brian Hendrix

Far and away, one of the best I ever wrote, and I have no idea where I even came up with the idea. A song jumped into my head during the middle of a power outage in a thunderstorm, and I kept wondering "Where have I heard that song before?" Turns out, I hadn't. It was just playing in my head, so I wrote it. A gift from the thunder, maybe. About a guy telling a story of his uncle who used to be a popular Elvis impersonator for a living. I'm in love with this song. I'm hesitant to list it here. I really like how the first verse drops clues but doesn't flat-out say it, then the chorus is mainly Elvis popular song titles that I tied in together. I happen to think it's clever and catchy, but I'm biased.
