These guys were some of the best friends I've ever had, and in about being in high school and some of the best times I've ever had. They were never any worries during my high school days. All I did was have fun, date women, and play a lot of sports. Our futures were all ahead of us, and some made out better than others. But the saying is true that sometimes good friends go awry and they'll always come back to you. Good friends are hard to find. I still stay in touch with a couple of these guys today, and I cherish that relationship.

This lyric is about a girl named Tannis, who I met when I was 23 living in San Francisco. She was truly my first woman that I ever fell in love with. She was from British Columbia, and was only living in San Francisco on a visa to go to college. I knew one day that she would leave to go back, and that our love would probably be no more. Even to this day, at 63 years old, I think about her, and what might have been if she didn't have to go back to Canada.

I know for me, for a long time I had no love in my heart for myself or anyone else.
