Pandemic

(Mark Walsh)

Hi there, thanks for looking. Yea, so I’ve been sitting here contemplating the current mess we are all in regarding this Coronavirus pandemic. The mess our government had made of it and what seems to be our obsession with the end of the world by virus like means.

We wished for this, the silence, the emptiness, the desolate cities The sirens perpetuate the scream, echoed by those who mourn Your 21st century heroes have become villains, the pantomime ensues Like an army of the dead, as if the earth has had enough. The minute monster of pestilence yes, the tales they told were true. The pale one has raced across the earth, touching all within its path More death it seems than life, as we wait for the horses that follow. Will black? Will white? Will red? Will the world survive? Leaders have no answer, followers have no hope, it’s time for a change. They say we will rise, they say we will learn, history begs to differ. The machine has stopped, the pain and hurt it creates has only been replaced. We are always the ones which suffer, the poor, the sick, the frail. Before the flow of blood can be stemmed, more arteries will bleed. The walls are closing in, the hands around my throat, the thorns tied tight. No longer can we look away, no longer can we ignore the ones who were once invisible. Tomorrow never comes, more than a day away, a lifetime will pass before strength returns.

False Hope

By Mark Walsh

Hi there. Yea, so this song I call ‘false hope’ initially I called it ‘death song’, but that was just a bit too morbid I guess? So basically it’s about the hope and faith we put in religion and how our lives ultimately end in death. Death is always there waiting for us, we live by this everyday yet somehow we live in denial.

The Witch

By Mark Walsh

Hi. Yea, so I recently watched a movie about a medieval witch, which got me thinking about the Salem Witch Trials and how women were accused of witchcraft and then stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea. This song I guess is about a man who loses his love as she’s accused of being a witch. Thanks for looking.
