How did you think I'd feel after you broke my heart and proceeded to tear my world apart It's just like you, to be so unaware, yeah I should have known, right the start. I thought I knew you, Man was I wrong, Now I look like a fool, I wasn't too smart When you turned your back I got back on track When you turned your back I got back on track You did what I couldn't do, And walked away, I should have left you years ago, and that's a fact You were my everything, but to you I was nothing just your bank and ATM Now learning how to trust again When you turned your back I got back on track When you turned your back I got back on track

Sang Like Elvis

By Brian Hendrix

Far and away, one of the best I ever wrote, and I have no idea where I even came up with the idea. A song jumped into my head during the middle of a power outage in a thunderstorm, and I kept wondering "Where have I heard that song before?" Turns out, I hadn't. It was just playing in my head, so I wrote it. A gift from the thunder, maybe. About a guy telling a story of his uncle who used to be a popular Elvis impersonator for a living. I'm in love with this song. I'm hesitant to list it here. I really like how the first verse drops clues but doesn't flat-out say it, then the chorus is mainly Elvis popular song titles that I tied in together. I happen to think it's clever and catchy, but I'm biased.
